Today we continued Unit 5 and
learned about free body diagrams. We also learned about the four types of force
that are involved in free body diagrams. Weight force, Normal force, Friction,
and Tension force. Weight force is how much something weighs. Normal force has
to do with contact. Friction is what slows objects down it goes the opposite
direction that the object is going.
After we learned the different types
of forces we learned how to set up the problem. The first step was to read the
problem, then we were supposed to determine the forces that are acting upon the
object, and finally were had to determine the direction that each force is
acting.
We also learned how to construct a
free body diagram. We would draw the object as a point or box, then draw each
force as an arrow, then attach each arrow to the point or box, and finally aim
the tip of each arrow in the direction the force is acting in.
In this picture if we were to make a free body diagram of the earphones we would be able to see the forces. The weight force is pushing down with gravity and the normal force is pushing up with the force from the ground.

i like how you explained thoroughly how to make a free body diagram and solve problems! Your picture is very artsy too ;) Good job!
ReplyDeletethanks! :)
DeleteI like your picture, this is a good example of free body diagrams. :)
