I chose this picture because it shows that the Normal forces and the weight forces cancel out but using the F=MA equation we could calculate force and mass and acceleration. The cart is accelerating forward.

Unit 6: Forces with motion
So
yesterday in Physics we did the Air Track lab. I didn't do a blog yesterday
because Jon had told us it wasn't necessary, so instead today I'm going to be
posting two blog posts. So the air track lab was supposed to demonstrate the
relationship between force, mass, and acceleration. In others words, it was
testing Newton's 2nd law, or F=Ma. We tested if force was increased
how acceleration would change. We found out that force and acceleration were
directly related. We also tested to see what the change would be if we
increased the mass. We found out that acceleration and mass are inversely related.
We ended up collecting all the data as a class because it took too long to
collect data individually in our own groups.
I chose this picture because it shows that the Normal forces and the weight forces cancel out but using the F=MA equation we could calculate force and mass and acceleration. The cart is accelerating forward.

Is this the same place where you took your other photo of the other blog? (Did that make sense?) This lab was really confusing, but I think I understand Newton's 2nd Law a little bit better :)
ReplyDeleteYes it was! haha thats good!
