Today
we began class by continuing the bungee lab! Since our group finished it on
Friday we decided to start working on our bottle rocket. My partner and I
finished cutting the bottles and making the parachute! Soon after everyone
finished their lab Mr. Blake explained more about energy! This was shown by
using the bowling ball, he explained that the ball starts out with no energy
then gains potential energy. The point at which that ball is released from is
the point where the ball has the most energy. Then on the balls way down it
loses potential energy and gains kinetic energy. We did more practice of work
and power by doing a lab. The lab was having two people run up and down the
stairs at the fastest they could! Then we calculated the amount of work and power
they had using their mass and time.
After
we finished the lab we got to begin day one of launching. This launch was just
meant to get us comfortable with the pumps and all. The first launch our table
did didn't work well because there wasn’t enough pressure so it just flew
directly sideways almost taking out 3 people! Haha but soon after we got the
hang of it! I can't wait until we get to test out the real rockets and I hope
the rocket eating tree doesn't get my rocket!

This is a picture of me and my friend Jamie. This picture kind of relates to the lan we did today. Jamie and I were sprinting as fast as we could to see who got to the dog first. We went the same distance and in the same path BUT since my mass is more than Jamie's I would have done more work because i would need more force to move. If i had a faster time though (even though i think jamie won) there could be a possibility that i had more power too!
awww I remember that day :) haha but it was very creative of you to talk about how you're both working, but you're working harder, and how you related this to the lab from today!
