5 Seconds to Mars!

TODAY WAS A BLAST! Hehe :)! We got to test our rockets with all of our additions! Our group added four fins, a trash bag parachute, play-doh, and an athletic cone as the cone of our rocket! The first couple times we shot the rocket it didn't even get close to reaching the 5 second minimum mark. Mr. Blake said we needed to add more mass to the cone so that it would go faster and we also needed to figure out a way to keep the cone on longer.
In the afternoon we tried launching the rocket with more clay and also added 3 more mini fins on the top to support our cone. Jasmine also suggested that we attach the string from the cone to the inside of the rocket using a small piece of play-doh! We also found out that one of our 4 big fins ripped off but we decided to test it out anyway. So with the new additions we launched our rocket! The last time that we launched we ended up getting a time of 9.98 seconds! WE WERE SO CLOSE TO 10! We hope we can get either the same time or close to 10 tomorrow! We hope that lucks on our side! :) !! Today was soo fun!
This is a picture that i made with the extra play-doh that we had from the launch today! I attempted to imitate a rocket to signify the project and i put day 2 to remember that today is the day we had a good test :)! I was going to put a picture of the rocket but i didn't want to ruin the surprise for tomorrow :)
