Unit
one was our introduction to physics or rather it was our introduction to how
physics connects with real life. This unit was also connected to learning about
pendulums, reviewing scientific notation, applying dimensional analysis, and
learning about different graph types. For the pendulum lab we got to experience
the human pendulum and get to swing around on it and test out how mass affected
the period of a pendulum. We each made hypothesis on how mass, length, and
angle would affect our periods of the pendulums. It ended up that mass and
angle had no relationship with the periods of the pendulum, but length had a
direct relationship with the period of the pendulum.
We
then learned about the different types of graphs and how they would look if we
were to draw them, we also learned what their equations would be. For example
if a set of data ends up looking like a straight horizontal line that would be
no relationship and the equation would be y=b.
The picture below is a picture my
friend took of me while I was on the pendulum swing.

Cute picture x) I hope the swing stays there the whole summer ! I also hope we get to have more fun like this.
ReplyDeleteCute pic :) I liked how you gave a clear review of what happened in unit 1 and gave examples too!
ReplyDeleteIt seems you've been busy in physics. But judging by the photo, it looks like you're having lots of fun. Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteYou went into a lot of detail when describing what you learned about and it helped me to remember all the worksheets we did! Your picture is really cute! I like how your post was really easy to read and I enjoyed reading it as well!
